Lazio 1984 - No.11 Laudrup.

Michael Laudrup impressed in the 1983 season for Brøndby, and was sold for a Danish transfer record to defending Serie A champions Juventus. He was due to sign for Liverpool the same year on a 3-year contract, but Liverpool at the last minute changed the contract to 4 years and Laudrup decided not to join.
Laudrup's career would go on to be spectacular but it didnt go immediatly to plan. Under restriction of a maximum two foreign players in each team, of which Juventus already had Boniek and Platini, Laudrup was initially loaned to newly promoted Rome club Lazio for a single season, something that Laudrup had not been informed about before signing.

With Lazio, he scored two goals in his Serie A debut in a 2–4 loss to Verona. In his first year at the club, Lazio narrowly avoided relegation, but with still no place available at Juve, Laudrup had to stay for another year. Lazio started the 1984–85 season badly, and they finished dead last and were relegated to Serie B, with Laudrup scoring just a single goal that season.

Barcelona 1998 - No.21 Luis Enrique.

After starting his career with his local club Sporting de Gijón, Luis Enrique spent most of it with the two biggest Spanish clubs: first Real Madrid for five seasons and, in a stunning move, he saw out his contract and moved to fierce rivals Barcelona on a free transfer. The Catalan club's supporters were at first hesitant about their new acquisition, but he soon won the culés' hearts, staying eight years with the club, eventually becoming first-team captain and scoring several times in El Clásico against his former employers.
As a player his usual position was right or central attacking midfielder, but he was notable for his versatility, having played in all positions throughout his career except central defender and goalkeeper. Despite never winning the top prize in European football, he did help Barca to two domestic league and cup victories. In 2004, at the age of 34, he announced his retirement, feeling that he could no longer keep up to the standards he set for himself. Luis Enrique finished his professional career with league totals of 400 games and 102 goals. A decade later he was greeted back into Camp Nou as first team Manager.

Sampdoria 1985 - No.10 Mancini.

Widely considered the best player to ever play for Sampdoria, Roberto Mancini was a genius on the pitch and for a decade he made the team from Genoa a force to be reckoned with in Italy. Having been signed from Bologna in 1982 when he was 18, the Lesi native spent 15 years with the Blucerchiati - becoming a legend and symbol of the club. In over 550 games he holds the record as the clubs top scorer of all time with
a total of 132 goals.

Mancini was not only known as a reliable goal scorer, but had great playmaking, passing and dead ball ability. Mancini presented a Serie A title, four Coppa Italia, and one Cup Winners' Cup in his time for Sampdoria. He was also named the Serie A Footballer of the Year in 1997 before moving to Lazio in the next season.

Paolo Montavani, the oil baron who had bought Sampdoria in 1979 simply adored Mancini. Sven Goran-Eriksson, the Sampdoria manager for Mancini's final five years once remarked "He [Montavani] would ring me up when we were playing away, ask if Mancini would play and only turn up if I'd said yes."
